(CAAB) announces the appointment of Dr Bao Rasebolai Mosinyi as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective 1st July 2021. Bao Mosinyi, An Aerospace Engineer, brings to CAAB, a broad and extensive experience in Aviation and Aerospace acquired in a period of over 20 years. He has previously worked for an aviation regulator, airline, aircraft manufacturer, and an aircraft engine manufacturer.

COVID- 19 PRESS RELEASE

 GABORONE: 16th March, 2020.

The Government of Botswana has been closely monitoring the evolution of the COVID-19 outbreak, now declared a pandemic by the World Health Organisation.  In order to prevent the transmission and spread of COVID-19 in Botswana, the Government of Botswana in line with the Public Health Act 2013 is implementing the following measures:

  1. Travel
  • All individuals coming to Botswana from the following high risk countries will not be allowed entry:

China, Japan, South Korea, Iran, USA, UK, Austria, Belgium, Denmark,    France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and India. Batswana and residents returning from high risk countries will be subjected to 14-day mandatory quarantine as per protocol.Read More »

DOHA, Qatar – The first Qatar Airways flight from Doha to Gaborone, Botswana, touched down at Sir Seretse Khama International Airport on Sunday 15 December. The flight was greeted upon landing by His Excellency Vice President of Botswana, Mr. Slumber Tsogwane, and the Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr. Thulagano Segokgo. CAAB GROUNDS 28 AIRCRAFT

 GABORONE: 24th July, 2019.Civil Aviation Authority of Botswana has grounded some 28 Gippsland GA8 Airvan aircraft issued with the Botswana airworthiness certificates with immediate effect. There are 7 aviation operators affected by this suspension. The GA8 aircraft is Australian made. The suspension of the airworthiness certificates follows a fatal accident that occurred with a GA8 “Airvan” aeroplane in Sweden on the 14th July that killed all 9 people on board………
