Francistown, 01 September 2021: The roll out to vaccinate Civil Aviation Authority of Botswana (CAAB) staff as frontline workers commenced at PG Matante International Airport (PGMIA), where 114 out of 139 employees received their first jab of COVID-19 vaccine. The other staff members had received their vaccinations in previous rollouts for prioritized groups (phase 1 & phase 2).
The 2-day vaccination exercise commenced from 31st August 2021 and was carried out by the Greater Francistown District Health Management Team (DHMT). This came as a relief to the staff at the airport.
“The vaccination will be extended to other airports”, confirmed the CAAB Chief Executive Officer, Dr Bao Mosinyi.
