Gaborone 17th September 2021: CAAB CEO, Dr Bao Mosinyi has applauded the Aviation Fire Fighters for their prompt response in putting out a fire which broke out in the evening of Thursday 16th September 2021 at the precinct of the Sir Seretse Khama International Airport.
The fire believed to have started on the western side of the airport was put off just before midnight before crossing over the development of the CAAB/SEZA Infrastructure Development of Boulevard 1 of the Airport City.
A combination of the Civil Aviation Authority of Botswana firefighting department and the Gaborone City Council were able to dose off the veld fire early Friday morning.
On his part, the Principal Fire Officer, Mr Galefele Mapena thanked Dr Mosinyi for his support. He said his team feel valued and motivated.
